Quick Installation Guide
For most Hilux models from 2005 onwards, you don’t always need to remove the inner door panel to change the handle:
-
Open the Door: Look at the side of the door (the thin edge) near the handle level.

Remove the Plug: There is usually a small rubber or plastic plug. Pop it out to reveal a T30 Torx screw.

Loosen the Screw: This screw is “captured” (it won’t fall out), so just loosen it until the small end-cap of the handle (where the keyhole is) can be pulled out from the outside.

Slide and Pull: Once the cap is off, slide the main handle towards the rear of the truck to unhook it, then pull it away from the door.

Reverse for New Handle: Slide the new chrome handle in, snap the cap back on, and tighten the screw.
